SUL DE MINAS

     The Sul de Minas/Mantiqueira region  and the Carmo de Minas microregion, located on the mountain slopes of the southern part of Minas Gerais State in Brazil, possesses a perfect combination of climate and land factors, added with altitudes that vary between 1,000 meters to 1,400 meters, with highly fertile soil that enables the production of fine coffee with typical characteristics, such as a great body, well balanced with a good finish. Usually sunny, temperatures are mild with even rainfall; conditions that are superb for producing coffee of excellent quality. All this, coupled with the experience and dedication of the producers who make the coffee culture in the region a centuries-old tradition.


   Carmo de Minas is located on the famous Circuito das Águas of southern Minas Gerais, approximately equidistant 330 km from Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. The Circuito das Águas (Water Circuit), represented mainly by the cities of São Lourenço, Caxambú, Lambari and Cambuquira, is recognized internationally for both quality and variety of its abundant mineral waters, some with proven medicinal effects, whose natural deposits along with the exceptional weather and rare beauty of the mountains constitute a strong attractive for tourists both from Brazil and from around the world.
